Is Photography Art? A great soccer manager, who, when asked whether football was a matter of life and death replied. "Nothing as trivial as that!"
This blog is intended to showcase the landscape photography of photographers who have moved beyond the pretty picture and for whom photography is more than entertainment.
>>>>As The Landscapist blog gains density and depth, I think you will find much interesting stuff buried in the Archives. IMO, it will be worth your time to explore a bit.
>>>> Email submission of photographs for publication are encouraged Not all photographs will be published. First consideration will be given to those photographs which, whatever their visual merits, instigate thought and discussion about the medium of photography. Photo files should be around 200k @ 72dpi with a maximum dimension of 900 pixels. Please include personal info and some words about any ideas regarding the medium that your photograph(s) addresses.
Comments, commentary and lively discussions are vigorously encouraged.

Mark,
I like the conflict of the delicate, colorful leaves as they caress the cold hard steel railing.
I really like this image alot. The red leaves grabbing the rusted rail and engulfing it like the fingers of mother Earth clutching a scab. The composition, the colours , the presentation all work in harmony to give me the feeling of tension and conflict. Stellar work!
