Is Photography Art? A great soccer manager, who, when asked whether football was a matter of life and death replied. "Nothing as trivial as that!"
This blog is intended to showcase the landscape photography of photographers who have moved beyond the pretty picture and for whom photography is more than entertainment.
>>>>As The Landscapist blog gains density and depth, I think you will find much interesting stuff buried in the Archives. IMO, it will be worth your time to explore a bit.
>>>> Email submission of photographs for publication are encouraged Not all photographs will be published. First consideration will be given to those photographs which, whatever their visual merits, instigate thought and discussion about the medium of photography. Photo files should be around 200k @ 72dpi with a maximum dimension of 900 pixels. Please include personal info and some words about any ideas regarding the medium that your photograph(s) addresses.
Comments, commentary and lively discussions are vigorously encouraged.

I like the visual glow on the trunks of the trees. It almost looks as though it is metallic in nature. A wonderful, quality light on the scene. To me this is the perfect light.
I agree with Jim...the light is just fantastic. The trees themselves look as if they are emitting light.
So many elements in the scene, yet organized in such a pleasing manner. I especially like the one "black sheep" of the family.
Mark, it seems the link to the large version is incorrect.
I love the how the horizontal layers are stacked in this photo and connected with the vertical trees. The colours are almost industrial, the feeling is cool and I can reach out and feel the cold bark and stone. Another winner. Darwin
